Why We Exist

Xenophobia is a global crisis. It threatens the safety, dignity, and potential of millions of migrants, refugees, and minority communities. WAXO was established to be a leading global voice for change.

Our Story

Founded in 2020 by a coalition of human rights defenders, scholars, and displaced persons, WAXO was born out of a shared conviction: that the world needs a unified and determined response to the growing wave of xenophobia.

What started as a small network of activists has grown into a global movement with chapters in over 75 countries, working with communities, governments, and international organisations to defend the rights of migrants, refugees, asylum seekers, and expatriates.
